3-Day Future of Technology Camp (physical class/zoom-based)

In an increasingly digitized world, many processes are now being automated. The extent to which this will take place will be driven mostly by Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR), as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI). Throughout this 3-day Future of Technology camp, students will be taken behind the scenes to gain understanding of how these cutting-edge domains work and would affect them in the future.

At the same time, students will be taught popular block-based coding platforms such as Scratch, IoT device Halocode and Cospaces to build up their computational thinking skills. (AR/VR), as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI). Throughout this 3-day Future of Technology camp, students will be taken behind the scenes to gain understanding of how these cutting-edge domains work and would affect them in the future.

The future of technology is yours to shape.

On Day 1, students will be introduced to block-based coding on Scratch where they first get familiarized with the platform by building a simple game. Soon after, they will be introduced to the concept of machine learning and AI. They will understand the difference between machine learning and AI, as well as what makes data “good” or “bad”. Students will then be tasked to work on a mini project utilizing what they have learnt about AI and showcase to the class.

On Day 2, students will learn about the IoT device, Halocode, and its various functionalities and sensors. There will be lots of hands on activities for this segment, as students continue to build on their experience with block-based coding and gain a deeper understanding of IoT, facial/voice recognition and AI.

Last but not least, Day 3 will bring the students into the Augmented and Virtual Reality world where they will build on their block-based coding mastery to create a livable city. They will learn to add music and an interactive element to their self-created virtual world, creating their true vision of a city of the future.

Objectives

To help students gain mastery over block-based coding and strengthen computational thinking

Our Pedagogy

We spend hours intentionally building these life skills in our students so that not a minute is wasted.

FAQ

  • Does my child need prior knowledge of coding?
Our holiday camps are suitable for beginners who have no prior knowledge or experience in technology-related courses. Even if your child has had prior knowledge or experience, he or she will still find our holiday camps refreshing due to the sheer variety of platforms we cover and the thematic approach we employ which makes every camp different and new.
  • Will lunch be provided?
Yes, your child’s lunch is included in the camp fees. Please pack some light snacks and drinks for your child as we will be taking short breaks in between.
